Fabric Help

I have the pattern and that's about it.

I still can't make up my mind about what fabric to use. I definitely don't want a silk dress. And I want something with a little bit more drape to the fabric and then those suggested or else the silhouette will not work on me at all. I'm thinking of using something slightly heavier as by the time I finish it will be heading into autumn.

So I was thinking maybe corduroy with a fine wale. But I'm wondering if the overall dress will be too heavy. What do people here think?

I think fine corduroy sounds fabulous!

I have a fine corduroy shirt which isn't so very much heavier than an ordinary heavy-cotton shirt, so the weight shouldn't really e a problem.

It might be especially nice if you di the yoke in a matching colour but contrast texture of fabric, like satin or taffeta or something.

Corduroy is one of my favorites! I don't think there will be a problem at all. Even if it seems a bit heavy hanging in the closet, that weight will distribute nicely when you wear it, and it should drape beautifully. :)
